Development Economics - Debraj Ray An awesome introduction to Dev Econs. It builds up the very foundation of the subject, familiarizes students with all essential definitions and theories as well as some "recent" development in the field (remember the book was written in 97). Chapters of growth theories are the most valuable. Ray makes everything so crystal clear compared to other texts. Yet the author approaches the field mostly via micro-econs and game theory, the macro side is much less stressed.
