I Capture the Castle - Dodie Smith The problem is just I like Stephen so much regardless of his extreme stupidity and loyalty. And I feel that Cassandra is just so... typical teenager, of whom I hold no interest. Rose is not a good girl but not such a bitch at all, whom I found ok. But I have no idea why Simon is interesting. Moreover, I cannot feel the genius of Cassandra's father. Perhaps Topaz is the most tolerable character. I would have liked Neil more had the ending not been so sudden and somehow very unbelievable.

I like the first half of the book enough, but the other half is just annoying. I have no idea why the story should go that way.
